This background is from a commercial produced in the 1980's for a Suffolk based brewery called Greene King who were then going national with their marketing. Richard Purdum animated a villein in the stocks going through a wide variety of emotions whilst a serving wench passed by carrying glasses of beer to merrymakers in the marketplace beyond. A difficult job to animate when the character's hands are manacled in stocks. The brief called for a style based on Breughel paintings. |
