This is a close-up of the previous image, and reveals the attention that the layout department paid to historically accurate details. Some of the background was sprayed with an acrylic matte varnish, to enable me to paint thin warm glazes over the opaque gouache. Most of the gouache work was applied wet-into-wet, blending with a range of badger or sable blender brushes. |
