I believe that
an audience will enjoy a scene more if the person creating that
scene enjoyed the process of creating it. I really enjoyed
painting this one. It's a big diagonal pan background, ending
with a close-up of a dog in the basket on the floor. The dog
overhears the telegraph operators pleading with their counterparts
in Anchorage to find a way to send the diphtheria serum to Nome. This
image is one of a sequence of shots illustrating the failed attempts
to send the vaccine by air or sea.
