Satori Tips and Tricks for Beginners

# 2 Before You Start Work

By Michael Hirsh

A Good Habit.

Here's a really good habit to get into. As soon as you open Satori, and before you open any image, start a new canvas, or whatever, remember to do the following two things:
Number ONE. Go straight to the Edit toolbar and turn the Fast Edit button ON

Why would anyone want to have it turned OFF?

Number TWO. Check the "Auto Build" check box on the Actions Palette / Paint Button.

Before...

Auto Build ON

And After.
Why?
Because it's irritating to start an edit action or a brush build, and to find these actions are slower than they need to be. There must be a reason why these options are included in the Satori GUI, but I have never figured out what it is, nor found myself demanding slower performance from Satori.
