Using the Layout drawing (shown on previous page, go on, flip it.), I painted this production sketch using Satori FilmFX. The result was not only a picture we could show the client, but also a store of data that could be given to the 3D department at Uli Meyer Studios for texturing and colouring the eventual model. Because Satori is object oriented, it means that every single brushstroke, fill or whatever, can be recalled and its parameters applied to any other object. This meant that I could recall the colours used in the painting of the front of the building, say, then fill a rectangle with those same colours and pass that on (in Softimage pic file format) to 3D, and it would appear exactly the same way on the model.Compare this picture with the next by using the Back button on your browser.
