Tutorial : "Hacking Typography in Satori."

Step Five: Now cut the counter.

Use the Irregular Polygon tool in the Geometry > Shape tab, and press the Filled and Cut buttons.

 

This combination of buttons will cut the hole in the middle of the "A" shape.

 

Check "No Constraints" on the Grid / Constraints tool,
but keep the grid visible.

 

Start at the apex of the triangle, and keep an eye out for the thickness of the main strokes of the letter. You can always edit later.

Use the Object Palette to change the names of the two objects you have just created
